Fixie Raises $17 Million in Seed Funding for AI Application Platform

Seattle-based Fixie has raised $17 million in seed funding to accelerate its growth and empower the next wave of innovation in AI. The platform enables businesses to build applications using large language models, and the funding round was led by Redpoint, with participation from Madrona Venture Group, Zetta Venture Partners, SignalFire, Bloomberg Beta, and Kearny Jackson.

Angel investors also participated in the round, including current and former executives from tech giants like Google, Amazon, and Apple. This funding will allow Fixie to scale up its platform and expand its team, with open roles in engineering, product, and developer relations in Seattle.

Fixie’s platform allows businesses to automate processes, build natural language understanding into existing products, and answer questions about data hosted behind APIs. The platform supports popular models like OpenAI’s GPT-4 out of the box, but agents can also use their own models or integrate with other commercial and open-source models like AI21’s Jurassic-2, GPT-NeoX, or Cohere.

The launch of the Fixie Developer Preview enables anyone to integrate LLMs into their applications, data, and tools. This will allow more businesses to take advantage of the benefits of natural language processing without requiring specialized technical expertise.

Fixie’s platform comes with over 30 built-in agents, providing access to a broad range of systems and tools like databases, complex APIs such as GitHub, productivity tools like Google Calendar, and public data sources like web search and Twitter. The platform can be used for a variety of purposes, including customer assistance, business automation, business intelligence, content development, CRM automation, and more.

Founded by engineering and product leaders with experience building products used by billions of users at companies like Google, Apple, and Shopify, Fixie is poised to revolutionize the way businesses approach natural language processing. With this funding and the launch of the Fixie Developer Preview, the company is well-positioned to continue its growth and help more businesses harness the power of AI.
