DataDome Raises $42M in Series C Funding to Combat Online Fraud and Bot Attacks

DataDome, a New York-based startup that provides AI-powered online fraud and bot management solutions, has announced the closure of a $42 million Series C funding round led by InfraVia Growth, with participation from existing investors Elephant, ISAI, and others. The latest funding round brings DataDome’s total funds raised to $82 million. The investment will support the company’s mission to eliminate bot-driven cyberattacks and fraud and also fund its global commercial rollout and R&D efforts.

Founded in 2015 by Benjamin Fabre and Fabien Grenier, DataDome offers bot protection services for mobile apps, websites, and APIs. The company’s solution detects and mitigates assaults on these digital properties with unprecedented accuracy and zero compromises. DataDome has analyzed the website, mobile app, and API traffic of more than 300 enterprises it protects, including businesses in clothing, footwear, tickets, and electronic retail, among others. The company protects these enterprises from account takeover, scraping, payment fraud, DDoS, credential stuffing, and more.

According to Benjamin Fabre, CEO and co-founder of DataDome, bots have become a common path to fraud, and in 2022 alone, DataDome stopped over 250 billion online fraud attempts in real-time. The company’s product is built and deployed in a way that provides a unique lens into attack vectors, allowing it to see across silos and stop attacks in their tracks. This is why enterprises such as Rakuten, Reddit, and AngelList trust DataDome to protect their digital properties.

DataDome currently has a team of 180 members from over 30 nationalities, and the company has offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. DataDome has also partnered with Fireside, a European organization working towards gender parity in the tech industry, and 50inTech, an organization committed to fostering safe and inclusive workplaces for women.

In addition to its core product offerings, DataDome also provides its customers with a suite of analytics and reporting tools that help them gain insights into their website and mobile app traffic. The company’s analytics solutions allow enterprises to identify and understand user behavior, detect anomalies and potential threats, and optimize their digital properties for performance and security. With its innovative solutions and a growing customer base, DataDome is poised to continue its mission of making the web a safer place for businesses and consumers alike.
